New National Coalitions for Digital Skills and Jobs in Belgium, Cyprus, the Netherlands and the UK

Four new National Coalitions were announced today at the European Digital Assembly in Riga. National partnerships aim to overcome EU's digital skills gap and allow European citizens to benefit from the professional opportunities offered by new technologies and the Digital Single Market. Also in today's event, organisations such as BBC, CA Technologies and EMC Academic Alliance, among others, announced their commitment to the EU Grand Coalition.

Next school year in Latvia with trainings on informatics

One of the objectives of the national eSkills for Jobs campaign in Latvia was to influence changes in the general education curriculum. LIKTA, the Latvian Information and Communication Technology Association, and a number of ICT companies, were the creators of the new Educational Standard, which foresees training on digital literacy and coding from the first grade. Intensive work has been taken from the very beginning of 2015 resulting in a pilot project on the informatics curriculum
