MOOC | How to teach computing to primary students?

When today´s children start looking for their first job, it will most certainly require a knowledge of computing or at least computing concepts. To prepare students for this, many EU governments include this subject in national curricula; in the UK, every primary school teacher already teaches computing concepts.

On 20 April an introductory MOOC to help primary school teachers bring computing to their students will be launched on the European Schoolnet Academy, a platform for teacher professional development.

If you are a primary school teacher who needs ideas, tools or resources on how to teach computing, this MOOC is here to help you. You will be exploring the ideas, concepts, processes and skills that are important in computing and then get introduced to the tools and resources that can help you teach these concepts and processes in the classroom.

The course, which will last for 5 weeks, is completely free and requires around 2 hours of work per week.

Enrol in the course and participate in the discussion on social media channels via the Facebook group and Twitter using #CScourse.

The course has been developed by eSkills for Jobs partner European Schoolnet as part of the the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs campaign.
