A study published by Barclays with the support of a wide range of influential names from the technology sector, looked at what is needed for the development of digital skills by considering the experience of 10 countries.

The Barclays Digital Development Index benchmarks 10 countries around the world on their readiness to compete in the digital economy. It attributes an overarching ‘digital empowerment’ score to each nation, finding the U.K ranking in fourth place, with Estonia leading the way, followed by South Korea and Sweden. China and the U.S. hold joint fifth place.
